Weekly Update

Weekly Newsletter

What’s ahead for this week?....

  • Animal Research Projects are due on Friday, October 10th. Please be sure that you have researched an animal that lives in our great state. I sent home an example that Ms. Donald created. Please use this as a reference. Email me if you have any questions.
  • We will begin our study on Native Americans. I am so excited to teach the students about the people that lived here before the settlers arrived. We will explore a new genre, Folktales, during our Social Studies time.
  • Our young activists will begin building the perfect habitat for a loggerhead sea turtle. We will continue our research and begin exploring options on how we can raise money to donate to the Sea Turtle Rescue Center in Charleston, SC.  I invite you to read our blog post titled “How Can We Raise Money for Sea Turtles?” The students came up with these ideas on their own, and I was quite impressed!
  • We will not have spelling words OR spelling homework this week. Please use this time to complete the family exercises for the “Walk to School” week.
  • We will not have any tests this week due to most of our content being new. I know the kiddos will be excited about this!!!
