Regions Research

We started our research yesterday the good ole' fashion way with text books and sticky notes. The students read about their region and noted important information with their sticky notes.

Today, we pulled out our iPads to extend our research. I provided two links in a Google Doc. One link was a PDF of information and pictures. The other site allowed them to click on additional links to learn more information on particular topics.
The students used a template to record notes to prepare for their presentations.

Flipping Math

Today we tried a different approach to our math lesson. The students logged into their google drive account, retrieved their math lesson, including a link for a Kahn Academy video, and answered a journal response while viewing the video. This will be a great tool to use in our math stations in the future.

Let's Roll... Out!

Today our third graders got their very own iPads. We are excited to see how learning ignites and unfolds with this amazing learning tool at our fingertips.

A BIG, locked, mystery box sat at the front of our room this morning...

They watched the iPad Promises Video..

We worked to log in our usernames and passwords... Multiple times.... For multiple hours...

And finally personalized our iPads with selfies for our home screen...
Their teacher was a little frazzled at this point.

But as we all know too well, the best things take time and patience.

Stay tuned... Your child will soon be blogging on a personal KidBlog account. I'm passing the torch on to them. Personalized learning is now in action!

> Next week, our crew will have a quiz on landform features. Be sure to study the chart below. You can also find this is in the science section of their binder.
